DALLAS AREA RAPID TRANSIT (DART)

PROJECT OVERVIEW .

Orange Line Light Rail Build-Out

14-mile, $1.3-billion light rail project spanning North Irving/DFW, constituting a critical element of the region’s long-term public transit network strategy.

Bowman Engineering & Consulting (BEC) provided Construction Management Services for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Light Rail Build-Out Phase 2b of the Orange Line expansion to Irving, Texas.  BEC’s services included taking the lead Construction Manager role for the TRACK3 team, which included construction support during all phases of the design-build contracts.

The Orange Line now runs parallel with the Green Line through downtown Dallas to Bachman Station in Northwest Dallas. From there, it stretches northwest through the Las Colinas Urban Center to Belt Line Station. The first section of the Orange Line, (I-1) to the Irving Convention Center Station and section (I-2) to Belt Line Station opened in July of 2012. The third section (I-3) reached Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport in August of 2014.
